All proceeds from Our Lovely Lake District in Photos Calendar 2027 will go towards protecting the Lake District from the biggest development ever in the UK. Many thanks due to all the photographers featured in the calendar.

Coastal areas of Millom and Gosforth are under threat of an unprecedented nuclear experiment. There are plans for a massive high level nuclear waste, sub-sea dump, also known as a “Geological Disposal Facility.”
The government’s proposal is for a 50 km2 square, mine works, as deep as Scafell is high at 1000 metres. Old and proposed new nuclear wastes could be buried and abandoned under the Lake District coast in a gargantuan mine operational for the next 200 years. This would impact the whole of the Lake District and beyond.
