This FRIDAY 30th July in Whitehaven: NO TO NUCLEAR DUMP

Updated: Jul 29, 2021

Image - Radiation Free Lakeland at Wasdale Show in 2012 saying No Deep Nuclear Dump - now we have to do it all over again - only this time the County Council has no right of veto and the Government have already asked West Cumbria Mining's coal mine boss for costings for a big hole (if any journalists would like to use this photo please go to our archive here: https://www.picfair.com/pics/014194560-cumbria-nuclear-dump-plan-like-lemmings-we-are-oblivious )

We will be in Whitehaven on Friday 30th July to show RESISTANCE to the Government’s renewed push to “Deliver” a dangerous, deep nuclear dump.

The so-called “Copeland Working Group” will be holding a “drop in” session to promote the “Delivery" plan - ironically at the Traders Day Market. There is nothing more likely to poison Cumbrian produced food and drink than a deep nuclear waste dump leaking into the sea and the land.

Protect Cumbria from “Delivery” of a Deep Nuclear Dump.

  • JOIN US THIS FRIDAY 30th July FROM 1pm - 3pm at St Nicholas Gardens, Whitehaven - Some of us will be dressed as nuclear waste barrels. Bring banners and your Resistance to the nuclear dump plan. We will have information to counter the plan and there will be the opportunity to sign the petition. https://www.lakesagainstnucleardump.com/petition Hope to see you on FRIDAY from 1-3pm - if you cannot make it on the day here is the full list of the Nuclear Dump promoting “drop in” sessions - they even have colouring for the kids! We urge people to go along to "drop ins' in their area with banners NO DEEP NUCLEAR DUMP HERE - OR ANYWHERE! - please send us photos (here are some photos from last time we said no from 2008-2013 for inspiration https://radiationfreelakeland.picfair.com/

note: we have agreed with the venue organisors to have our banners outside the venue on Lowther St
